Welcome to Zion Lutheran Church

Update: July 9, 2020

This evening Church Council voted to reopen the sanctuary for worship on August 2nd, 9:30am. The wearing of masks is encouraged and social distancing will be maintained. All online forms of worship will continue for anyone not yet comfortable returning. We look forward to being together again!!!

Update: April 28, 2020

This morning the Bishop requested that all congregations continue remote worship throughout the month of May. Therefore we will definitely continue our present form of worship at least until June 7. All new information will be posted here first.

Update: April 27, 2020

1. The Governor just announced that when phase 2 of the reopening plan is implemented on May 12, the “no gatherings of more than 10” recommendation will still be in effect. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that we will continue remote worship throughout most of the month of May. Should this change, it will be posted here first.

2. Pastor Scott is planning an online Bible study Monday evenings, beginning May 4, 7:00-7:30 pm via both Zoom and Zion’s Facebook page. The study will focus on the book of Ephesians. If you are interested in participating via Zoom, please email Pr. Scott at zlcpastor@frontier.com, and he will email you the participation link.

Update: April 4, 2020

We will be broadcasting our Holy Week Services live on WZLP and Facebook. Maundy Thursday worship will begin at 7 pm. Good Friday worship will begin at 8pm. If you would like to receive the worship bulletins via email, please email the church office at zlcfamily@frontier.com

This will also give you access to his devotional videos and Sunday worship services.

Update: March 30, 2020

Given the current information, it looks like we will continue to suspend worship services throughout the month of April. This is based upon President Trumps extending of social distancing guidelines until the end of April, Gov. DeWine extending online classes until the end of April, Dr. Acton, of the Ohio Department of health, predicting that Ohio will not peak in Covid-19 cases until mid to late April, and the Cleveland Clinic’s prediction that we will not peak until May 1. We will continue to update this page as things progress.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all worship services have been suspended until the CDC recommended ban on gatherings of over 50 people is suspended. Please listen to Pastor Scott live on WZLP every Sunday during this period at 9:30 am (95.7FM or wzlpradio.com).

Also, the April community dinner has been cancelled. Please heed the recommendations of the CDC, our state government and our federal government. Stay at home if at all possible. Keep safe distances. The best thing we can do right now is stop the spread of the virus.
